First a Breathing Space for you. Abraham Lake, David Thompson County, Alberta, Canada
If I haven’t been to your places lately, know I am thinking about you. I do miss blogging regularly. My time priorities have included helping my writers group, Writers’ Café, launch their first collection, Hope Connections (that includes my photography); helping friends communicate their businesses and their art, grandchildren and navigating this pandemic emotionally.
Diving deep into Ecclesiastes has helped me be less worrisome and more present. Relieving the pressure of perfection, I’ve been more open to new experiences.
So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun. Ecclesiastes 8:15 (Read more here)
Life’s Unanswered Questions
Life will be full of unanswered questioned. Solomon’s wise remedy is accepting each day with joy and contentment. His advise is practical. Eat and drink every day for refreshment and strength so we can continue doing our work. Enjoy what God has given us. We will never understand all of life’s challenges and we will be forgotten after we die. Rest knowing God is sovereign. Take hold of the work He has for you today. That grammar mistake, that crooked photograph, that lopsided cake, that last place finish, is all part of His sovereignty. We judge our works from our human perspective, forgetting that God’s gifts are not to profit in life (for things are all meaningless eventually). Relieve the pressure to perform through life’s journey of learning to know God! He knows your end from the beginning.
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Can’t Stop Reading!
Reading is my joy activity. Below is a sample of my books that includes books from my middle-grade granddaughter (The Babysitters Club), other bloggers (The Advent Narrative and Rise Above Fear), and for my book club (The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks). To see more about these books and my thoughts, let’s connect at Goodreads!
And then there are all those books on my TBR lists including sweet romance from Jill Weatherholt to fantasy from Elle Cardy (also known as Lynda R Young) to the many choices at Mosaic Collection and at Dancing Lemur Press (Diane L Wolfe). For the young children in your life, check out Grumpy The Gator by Melissa Henderson
And last but not least, can you drop in on Thursday, December 3rd? All begins at 9 am MST. Love to see you there!
One more quick note! This place is moving to LynnJSimpson. It is currently ‘Under Construction’ and will let you know when the doors open!
